TransNusa to Launch Direct Flights from Jakarta and Bali to Thailand, Starting July and September 2026

Indonesian airline TransNusa announced on August 4, 2026, that it will launch direct flights from Jakarta and Bali to Thailand.

As the first phase, flights from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok will begin operating twice daily starting Thursday, July 6, 2026, with morning and afternoon departures allowing for same-day round trips.

The schedule (local time) is as follows:

• Jakarta 08:20 → Bangkok 11:45 (Flight 8B 381)
• Jakarta 16:30 → Bangkok 19:55 (Flight 8B 385)
• Bangkok 12:30 → Jakarta 15:55 (Flight 8B 382)
• Bangkok 20:40 → Jakarta 00:05 (Flight 8B 386)

Additionally, flights from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali to Phuket, Thailand, will begin on Friday, September 9, 2026. TransNusa Group CEO Datuk Bernard Francis noted that Bali and Phuket share similarities in attracting many tourists from Europe and the Americas, and the airline aims to position the two islands as tourism 'twin island-cities.'

Fares for the Thailand routes start from IDR 2.3 million, including 20kg of baggage. According to Francis, Indonesia ranks third among countries sending tourists to Thailand, after China and Malaysia.

On the same day, TransNusa signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to promote tourism cooperation between the two countries. TAT also signed a separate MoU with Traveloka at the same event.
