Maybank Marathon 2026 in Bali Expected to Generate Rp 300 Billion in Economic Impact

Maybank Indonesia President Director Steffano Ridwan announced that the Maybank Marathon 2026, scheduled for August 23, 2026 at Bali United Training Center, is expected to generate approximately Rp 300 billion in regional economic impact. Last year's edition of the annual event reportedly contributed Rp 255 billion, and organizers expect this year's larger event with more participants to exceed that figure. However, the actual economic impact will only be measured after the event concludes.

Now in its 15th year, the marathon is said to benefit local small and medium enterprises (UMKM) as well. Brands including Visa, BMW, and Adidas are involved as sponsors, with Adidas reportedly selling out its shoe stock and having to fly in additional inventory from Jakarta.

Race pack collection for registered participants opened on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Bali United Training Center, with the main race taking place on August 23. This year's event features 14,100 runners, an increase of about 500 from last year. The Maybank Marathon became Indonesia's first and only marathon to receive an 'Elite Label' from World Athletics in 2020, and is promoted as a flagship sport tourism event that draws not only competitive runners but also their families on vacation in Bali.
