Jamie McIntyre Faces New Federal Court Proceedings Over Bali Property Ventures

Australian businessman Jamie McIntyre reportedly faces potential Federal Court proceedings in Australia over alleged breaches of Australian Consumer Law linked to his Bali-based Lux Property Group projects. McIntyre was previously banned for 10 years from managing companies following a 2016 land banking scheme collapse.

According to reports, Jamie Neville McIntyre may face new Federal Court proceedings in Australia over alleged breaches of Australian Consumer Law related to representations made to investors regarding Bali-based Lux Property Group developments, including Hotel K, LUX Village Seminyak, LUX Wellness Retreat Tabanan, and the rebranded Nesara Bay City and Gesara Bay City projects.

McIntyre was previously banned for 10 years from managing corporations or operating financial services businesses following the 2016 collapse of a land banking scheme that reportedly cost 152 Australian families approximately AUD 7 million (ASIC v McIntyre [2016] FCA 1276). ASIC is reportedly investigating whether McIntyre has continued to operate companies through surrogate directors during his ban, and the Australian Federal Police are reportedly examining aspects of his operations.

Separately, Kinnara, the Bali-based sales agent for PT Bali Real Estate Investments, reportedly reported McIntyre to Indonesian authorities for alleged embezzlement after discovering investor funds were not being directed toward construction. A former director of McIntyre's company reportedly provided bank records showing minimal remaining balances despite substantial investor deposits.

All allegations remain unproven and should be treated as such pending court determination.

Things to Consider

If you have invested in or are considering investing in Lux Property Group-related projects (Hotel K, LUX Village Seminyak, LUX Wellness Retreat Tabanan, Nesara/Gesara Bay City), verify contracts, payment records, and building permits (PBG) immediately, and consult a lawyer or contact ASIC if concerns arise. Hold off on new investments until the legal proceedings are clarified. If funds have already been committed, document all transactions and consider reporting to relevant Indonesian or Australian authorities.
