Iranian Man Assaulted by Group in Seminyak, Bali After Confronting Man Harassing His Wife

An Iranian man (25) was beaten by a group of people at a restaurant in Seminyak, Badung Regency, Bali, after he confronted a man who was harassing his wife. The victim suffered facial and head injuries, and police are investigating, though no suspects have been arrested yet.

An Iranian national identified as YZ (25) was assaulted by a group of people on Jalan Kayu Aya in Seminyak, Badung Regency, Bali, at around 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

According to a spokesperson for the Denpasar Police, the incident occurred after YZ confronted a man who had been harassing his wife while the couple was ordering burgers at a restaurant. The man reportedly did not accept being reprimanded and, along with several others, beat YZ.

As a result of the attack, YZ suffered a torn and bruised left eye, an abrasion on his left eyebrow, bruising on his nose, and bruising and a bump on the back of his head. The perpetrators fled the scene after the assault.

The victim reported the incident to police and was taken to Bhayangkara Hospital in Denpasar for a medical examination. Police have secured CCTV footage from the area and are continuing their investigation, but as of September 23, no suspects have been identified or arrested.
