Four Nigerian Nationals Arrested for Visa Violations in Tabanan, Bali Immigration Raid
Bali Immigration officers arrested four Nigerian nationals for violating their residence permits during a joint raid on a boarding house in Batuaji Village, Kerambitan, Tabanan, Bali. Only one of the four could produce a passport and valid stay permit; the others attempted to flee or hide before being detained for further questioning.
On Thursday, September 24, 2026, Bali Immigration officers conducted a joint operation at a boarding house in Batuaji Village, Kerambitan Subdistrict, Tabanan Regency, Bali, arresting four Nigerian nationals for allegedly violating their residence permits. The head of the joint operation team, Reynald Christian, announced the details on Tuesday, September 29.
The operation began when officers spotted one Nigerian man, identified by the initials VU, leaving the boarding house on a motorbike. Officers pursued and detained him for inspection, during which he could not produce a passport or valid stay permit.
Officers then received information from the boarding house owner that three other Nigerian nationals — identified as OKA, LOA, and CHA — were staying in two separate rooms. When officers approached, the three locked themselves inside their rooms. OKA was found on the second floor without valid documents, while LOA and CHA were found hiding in a bathroom on the first floor. With the help of the property owner, officers eventually located and detained all three.
Of the four men examined, only one was able to present a valid passport and residence permit. All four were subsequently taken to the Tabanan Class III Non-TPI Immigration Office for further investigation.
