PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, operator of Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport, announced it will conduct a full-scale Airport Emergency Exercise (AEE) on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. According to airport General Manager Nugroho Jati, the drill is a regularly scheduled exercise designed to test the readiness of personnel and the effectiveness of the Airport Emergency Plan (AEP). This year's exercise will simulate three scenarios: a building fire, a security disturbance, and an aircraft accident.
Airport management has confirmed that normal flight operations will continue as usual during the exercise. However, travelers and airport visitors may see drill activities—such as fire trucks, security personnel, and mock emergency responses—around the airport grounds. As a result, the airport is urging all passengers to remain calm, avoid panic, and follow instructions from on-site staff if they encounter these activities.
