AXEAN Festival 2026 Draws Over 4,000 to Bali in Southeast Asia Music Showcase

AXEAN Festival 2026, a music event connecting Southeast Asia's music industry, was held over three days at Jimbaran Hub in Bali, drawing more than 4,000 attendees — nearly double the previous edition's turnout.

The festival featured three stages spanning genres from mosh-pit-worthy acts to dangdut ring dances. Indonesian headliner Ndarboy Genk blended dangdut, koplo, and Javanese pop to turn the crowd into a communal dance floor.

Marking its third consecutive year in Bali, the festival deepened ties with the island's creative community through pre-event activities at Craft Hotel in Ubud and Amplitude skate park in Seminyak, including panel discussions and performances by Balinese artists. A Southeast Asian street food hawker centre and arts and crafts area also drew families and younger attendees.

For industry professionals, the event included speed meetings, pitching sessions, and panels involving organizations from Australia, South Korea (KOCCA), and France (CNM).

A notable development was AXEAN's partnership with Seattle-based platform KEXP, marking the platform's first move into Asia. Twelve Southeast Asian artists recorded live performances at Locca Sea House and Puri Bhagawan, two cliffside venues in Jimbaran.

Launched during the pandemic as a virtual event, AXEAN has grown across seven editions to feature over 290 artists from 23 countries and welcome more than 530 delegates from 36 countries and territories, with close to 22,000 cumulative attendees.
