66 Foreign Nationals from 27 Countries Detained in Bali Immigration Crackdown
Bali's Immigration Office identified 66 foreign nationals from 27 countries during a week-long enforcement operation called 'Dharma Dewata', citing suspected visa misuse, overstaying, and public order violations. Further administrative action, including possible deportation, is being considered for each case.
Denpasar (ANTARA) - The Bali Regional Office of Immigration examined 66 foreign nationals from 27 countries caught during a week-long 'Dharma Dewata' patrol operation over suspected immigration violations and public order disturbances.
According to Bali Immigration Office head Felucia Sengky Ratna, of the 66 foreigners checked, 24 are suspected of misusing their stay permits, 20 overstayed their visas, and 22 others were flagged for public order and security concerns.
The operation covered jurisdictions including Ngurah Rai, Denpasar, Singaraja, Tabanan, and Klungkung. Officers used an integrated digital data system to validate documents and detect potential violations more quickly.
Officials also visited business operators and accommodation managers to educate them on the obligation to report the presence of foreigners through the Foreigner Reporting Application (APOA).
The 66 individuals are still under examination to determine further action based on the type of violation, which could include administrative sanctions such as deportation if warranted. Sengky emphasized that personnel must act professionally, avoid abuse of authority, and maintain humane but firm and lawful conduct.
She also urged the public to report suspected violations by foreigners through official immigration channels, including social media and WhatsApp contacts for the Ngurah Rai, Denpasar, and Singaraja immigration offices.
